I CAN HEAR SOMEONE COMING (2025)

(Digital/4:29min/B&W/UK)

I Can Hear Someone Coming is a videographic auditory intervention into queer representation in 1930s horror cinema. It creates an archive of speech acts uttered by women in 1930s horror films in a wide variety of non-sexual scenarios. It then reconfigures them to be about women's desires and women’s bodies; a response to the voices of other women, who also desire women's bodies.

Published with a creator statement in the 'Queer Horror' special issue of Monstrum journal, guest edited by Dayna McLeod, in February 2025.
